Hi, I’m Rhea

I’m a travel content creator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have an insatiable wanderlust, a love for active adventures, and a habit with sharing recommendations with anyone who will listen.

I dream that my stories inspire you to plan your next adventure.

My travel philosophy

Consider your impact

Wherever you go, I urge you to consider the impact of your visit. Across the world, tourism has caused unnecessary burdens – lack of respect for the local customs and environment, short-term rentals pricing locals out of their homes, porters on treks being mistreated, overtourism.

I encourage you to be a responsible traveler. Take some time to learn about the history of the place you visit, learn the basics of the local language and customs, follow leave no trace, and think about the impact of you visiting while you plan your trips.

Plan, but embrace spontaneity

At my core, I am a PLANNER. I love to think about how I will spend my days in a new place and optimize how I pack according to my itinerary. However, with every trip I try to keep unstructured time for the adventures I discover along the way. Some of the best moments I have discovered while at my destination – a secret swim spot, a yoga class on the beach, a night out before our flight home.

Be curious and open

Encourage yourself to get out of your comfort zone – try local cuisine, new activities, things that scare but excite you.

Some recent favorite travel memories

Canoeing in the Grand Tetons

Canoeing in the pristinely clear Jenny Lake as the Grand Tetons tower above me was an unforgettable experience. We leisurely canoed around the lake, admiring the grandeur during a picturesque summer day.

Exploring the Puerto Rican rainforest

El Yunque in Puerto Rico is host to much biodiversity, waterfalls, and my favorite – swim spots. The cool water offers a relaxing reprieve from the humidity of the rainforest. I had the best time splashing around with my friends.

Biking along Lake Kawaguchi

Lake Kawaguchi is nestled by the foothills of Mount Fuji. With an e-bike, you can easily cover the distance around the lake. If you get lucky, you can catch glimpses of Mount Fuji.
